Terms and Conditions

Humane bee removing is a process – not an immediate solution.

We will never kill bees, thus the removal process will take up to 7 days for all the bees to leave the removal site. As we work during the day, for the safety of our employees and clients, around 10% to 15% of the bees are not in the hive at the time of the removal.

ACCESSING THE HIVE.

Initially, we will remove the queen along with the bees in the hive with her. If the hive is located in a wall cavity, chimney or IBR roof this will entail removing bricks.  We are unable to gauge the extent of the size of the hive(s) inside the cavities until we have physically opened up and followed the hive(s) in the cavity area. Sometimes the removal may also entail removing bricks, air bricks, tiles, cladding, shutter board, plaster etc. to gain access to the hive, so that we can remove the comb. Only the minimum structure will be opened to gain access.

The onus is on the client to repair any removal site (should it be necessary). Allow a drying out period of 14 days before repairs must be undertaken and then as soon as possible after the 14 day drying out period.

SAFETY.

During the removal process, there will be a number of bees flying around. At this stage, they are angry and aggressive which may last for a couple of hours after the removal. Please keep the removal site clear of people, children, animals and livestock in a radius of approximately 10 to 15m during this period.

Please note: Save All Bees do not take any responsibility for any injuries or hospitalization sustained to yourself, your children or animals should you not adhere to this clause.

POST REMOVAL.

Once the removal is done and the bees have calmed down, they will settle down into a cluster or ball close to the removal site. If you see a cluster in a tree or wall close to the original hive- this is normal.

Within a couple of hours, normally overnight, this cluster will become more compact – these are the left-over bees, the 10% which were not in the hive at the time of removal. Basically, they are waiting for their queen to return to them. At this stage they are no longer aggressive and do not have a hive or a queen to protect. If you do not disturb them, they will quietly sit there and wait for their queen to return to them. Once these bees realise that their queen is not coming back, they will leave the site and join other hives in the vicinity. This process can take up to 7 days.

WARRANTY.

Save All Bees gives you a peace of mind warranty of 14 days from the initial day of removal. Should this cluster not disperse within the prescribed period, we will gladly return and remove the leftover bees free of charge. We also undertake to redo the removal free of charge should there be a problem after 7 days and before the warranty period lapses.

We reserve the right to charge a call out fee should you have reported a problem and we find that there are no bees at the site upon arrival.

Should you not notify us of a problem during the 14 day warranty period, Save All Bees will interpret this as confirmation that the removal is deemed to have been successful.

Any problems reported after the 14 day warranty period, we reserve the right to charge out our services with a minimum of a call out fee or even the full cost of removal at our own discretion.
